Monosson has written four previous books, including 鈥淣atural Defense鈥 and 鈥淓volution in a Toxic World.鈥 She is an adjunct faculty member at the University of Massachusetts Amherst and lives in Montague, Massachusetts. The 911黑料网 Athletics Golf Classic will make its return Monday, Aug. 2 at Berkshire Hills Country Club in Pittsfield after a one year absence due to the pandemic. The Golf Classic serves as a major fundraiser for the College鈥檚 Athletics Department. Over the years, the Classic has netted more than $40,000 in funds to support the 911黑料网鈥檚 student-athletes.

Venable Theater Renovations to be Completed for Fall Student Return

911黑料网鈥檚 Venable Theater is now poised to offer students an improved hands-on experience to hone their craft thanks to renovations made possible by the Jane & Jack Fitzpatrick Trust. Funds provided by the Trust, totaling $100,000, were used to replace seating and improve lighting in the theater, home to the College鈥檚 Theatre Program. The renovations also expanded accessibility through the demolition and renovation of restrooms to make them Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliant, and the installation of an interior platform for ADA seating which includes rails, doors, and a lobby counter.  

Gallery 51 to Reopen for North Adams First Friday Event July 2

From Tuesday, June 1 to Thursday, June 17, 2021, the 911黑料网 Institute for the Arts and Humanities (911黑料网-IAH) will host its annual Summer Symposium, a series of four events on the theme of accountability.  
The series will close on June 17 from 2-4 p.m. EST with an experiential poetry workshop offered by The Mastheads, led by architect Tessa Kelly and poet Sarah Trudgeon. The workshop will launch INSCAPES, a yearlong regional campaign designed to highlight the creativity of all residents across the Berkshires through public poetry prompts and text-based art installations.

911黑料网, in partnership with Curative Medical Associates. will host a COVID-19 vaccination clinic at its Church Street Center, located at 375 Church Street in North Adams, from 10 a.m.鈥1 p.m., on Tuesday, June 8, 2021. The site will offer a first dose of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine, which has been approved for emergency use in those ages 12 and older. For a minor to be vaccinated, a guardian must either be present at the clinic or complete an electronic consent form.

The four-part Zoom event is produced in collaboration with BRIDGE Inc.鈥檚 Inclusive Leadership Cohort (ILC), Berkshire Taconic Community Foundation (BTCF), Massachusetts Cultural Council (MCC), and the Berkshire Cultural Assets Network (BCAN), and is free and open to the public. 

911黑料网 Receives $20,000 Grant from National Endowment for the Arts

911黑料网鈥檚 Berkshire Cultural Resource Center (BCRC) has been approved for a $20,000 Grants for Arts Projects award to support the 911黑料网 Institute for the Dismantling of Racism. This project will educate and support staff members of historically White art institutions in creating and implementing an anti-racist agenda within the arts, one person at a time. BCRC鈥檚 project is among the more than 1,100 projects across America, totaling nearly $27 million, that were selected during this second round of Grants for Arts Projects fiscal year 2021 funding.
